Hello and welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere! I started this blog in October 2009 to record my progress in dressmaking, as I had just started a beginners course at my local ACL college. Since then I've achieved qualifications in Garment Construction and Pattern Cutting, and whilst I continue to document my progress in these areas, this blog has expanded to encompass many more interests. Refashioning, repurposing, thrifting, DIY, crafting, knitting, recipes,  and little bits about my "Little Tornado" (my relentless but hilarious and gorgeous little one, Elliott). Oh, and the occasional pondering here and there.

I don't regard myself as an expert in any field, and I am constantly learning and exploring new techniques and crafts. This blog is geared very much towards sharing what I am learning, pretty much as I learn it. So you'll find lots of step by step "tutorials" and explanations packed in here. I hope they are useful or serve to inspire someone out there to give these things a try :) All of us have an inner "creative". All it takes to discover it is to make a start and try something new!

Making things for yourself, and for others, is satisfying and makes sense on so many levels. Financially, ecologically and just for the sheer joy of being able to say "I made that!" If you've never tried sewing or crafting before, then I would absolutely encourage you to do so. Start today! And remember, the world will not end if you fluff it up. (Shhhh, I fluff it up ALL the time; and so do most other makers and bloggers out there. We just don't show you those bits ;)

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and please feel free to leave your comments, as hearing from you guys and connecting with like minded individuals has become one of the very best aspects of blogging for me!

Have a happy day!
